Precisamente este tema: Happy Hour, fue su primer gran éxito, grabado en 1986, que llegó a Nº3 de las listas inglesas. Su éxito no solo radicaba en la música fresca y optimista, sino en las letras, mezcla de política y cristianismo... Tuviero gran éxito sus interpretaciones a capella (¿recuerdan "Caravan of Love?). La banda se separó en 1988, aunque sus carreras siguieron cruzándose en numerosos trabajos. En los siguientes años Norman Cook (vocalista) alcanzaría gran popularidad como abanderado de la musica electrónica, sucediéndose grupos bajo su mando como Beats International, Freak Power o Fatboy Slim. Paul Heaton y Dave Hemingway, junto a la vocalista Sean Welch, formaron la banda The Beautiful South, muy conocida en el Reino Unido, aunque no tan populares fuera de las islas.A pesar de editar tan solo 2 álbumes, aparecieron posteriormente varios recopilatorios y directos.
